# Sunny Turkey — Turkish resort match

> A personal guide to 10 Turkish resorts with matching by climate, heat tolerance, age, health conditions, travel style and budget. The site is bilingual: English at turkish-resorts.info, Russian at kurorty.info. All data is sourced from public sources (Open-Meteo, WeatherSpark, Wikipedia, weather-atlas) and maintained manually.

Matching works through a 6-question quiz:
1. Age (3–85)
2. Travel month (1–12)
3. Heat tolerance (low / medium / high)
4. Chronic conditions (none / cardiovascular / respiratory / joint / skin)
5. Travel style (family / romantic / party / cultural / wellness)
6. Budget (economy / mid-range / premium)

The algorithm uses not just temperature but the **dew point** (the key indicator of perceived sultriness), monthly rainfall, sea temperature and off-season penalties. Specific health bonuses apply (e.g. speleotherapy in Damlataş cave near Alanya for asthma; dry Aegean air of Bodrum, Çeşme, Kuşadası for hypertension).

## About the data

Climate profiles are averaged from open sources (Open-Meteo, WeatherSpark, weather-atlas) and split into three types: Mediterranean (Antalya, Alanya, Kemer, Side, Belek), Aegean (Bodrum, Çeşme, Kuşadası) and Mixed (Marmaris, Fethiye). Each resort has a micro-climate "dewBoost" — for closed bays (Kemer +3°C dew point in July, Marmaris +2°C) and breezy peninsulas (Bodrum −2°C in July). Photos: Wikimedia Commons (CC).

## Contact and updates

The site runs as static HTML/CSS/JS with no backend, no cookies and no personal data collection. All quiz answers stay in the user's `sessionStorage`. Updated: May 2026.
